The new sound of motorsport - Formula E cars start testing at Donington Park

If you are wondering what motorsport might sound like in the future, here is a short video from the first round of testing for the up and coming Formula-E all-electric car series that starts in September.

During the first pre-season test day of the FIA Formula E Championship at Donington Park in the United Kingdom, the series simulated a 'false start'. For the first time in history of the all-electric championship multiple cars took off at the same time. The video shows the cars coming into the pit lane afterwards with detailed shots of the electric racers.

Though they do not have the roar of a Formula One car, they are by no means quiet. The wine of the motors is distinctly futuristic, and with the eyes closed, could easily be mistaken for a scene in Star Wars. What do you think?
