Safety boost for food manufacturers
Ensinger has extended its range of special plastics for the food industry. Its semi-finished product TECAMID 6 ID blue has significantly higher toughness to further minimising the risk of material fracture.
It also offers weight saving oppourtunities for plant equipment used to process and package foods. Increasingly applications are reducing weight made possible by using these materials, which equates to tangible energy and cost savings.
Like other materials from its ID product line, the new polyamide product comes with a detectable filler. As food manufacturers must be in a position to ensure the freedom of their end products from any form of contamination at all times, the detection of foreign bodies during the manufacturing process plays a key role.
Ensinger's semi-finished product range includes three different ID materials, each of which cover different application areas in the food industry. TECAPEEK ID blue has the highest strength of the three products within this product group. This material also has excellent chemical resistance and is capable of withstanding the highest thermal loads. TECAFORM AH ID offers very high dimensional stability making it suitable for precision component production. It has a high level of resistance to solvents and low moisture absorption.
