Fire retardant standard for plastic bearing
The tribopolymer and plain bearing specialist, igus UK, has introduced a cost-effective plain bearing that is fire retardant and classified according to stringent UL94 with V0 fire regulations. As a result, OEMs can now benefit from its low cost and reliable operation over a long service life.
The 'iglidur GV0' offers similar all-round properties to other plain bearing such as extremely high load capacity at low to medium sliding velocities and excellent wear resistance on many different shaft materials.
However, the GV0 can be used in areas with stringent fire protection regulations such as aircraft, automobiles and rail vehicle interiors, as well as in buildings systems such as lifts and escalators. The iglidur GV0 has an upper long-term application temperature of 130°C and short-term application temperature of 210°C. The bearing has a density of 1.53g/cm3, and has high abrasion resistance.
As with all igus plain bearings, GV0 bearings are lubricant- and maintenance-free, making them an excellent 'fit and forget' solution.
