Coating prevents corrosion on hub bearings

SKF has developed an anti-corrosion coating for wheel bearings.

The solution is said to make the disassembly of the bearing from the knuckle and rim easier.

It is also designed to prevent rusty surfaces from coming into contact with the seals, thus maintaining their effectiveness.

The coating can withstand more than 400 hours of salt-spray test (DIN EN ISO 9227 NSS) without jeopardising the geometrical tolerances of the hub bearing unit.

Able to withstand temperatures up to 200°C, it can be applied to all flanged hub bearings units of second and third generation.
