The original self-lubricating Nylacast 'Oilon' ensures cost effective alternative to metal

Nylacast Oilon's built in blended liquid lubricant system ensures an extensive bearing life, offering time-saving, cost-effective advantages to a number of applications in a range of industries.

Oilon was first introduced to the market by Nylacast back in 1974. The cast nylon material was created in the Nylacast Research & Development lab as a progression to the basic cast nylon grade, which most significantly established itself as the original self-lubricating nylon.

The polymer material has a very low coefficient of friction of 0.15 due to its built in blended liquid lubricant system and embraces a substantial increase in bearing life that is 5 times that of Natural cast nylon and 25 times that of phosphor bronze.

As Nylacast Oilon does not require additional lubrication, the advantages of having an exceptionally extended wear life and resistance to corrosion and abrasion means Oilon saves maintenance time and money when used in applications, and as a cost effective alternative to metals.

Nylacast offer Oilon in a variety of colours & standard profiles, such as rod, tube & plate which are available in several size configurations and all of which are FDA compliant. In addition we also offer Oilon for custom components that are engineered and tailored to specific design specifications.
