FORMAX to open automotive production facility

FORMAX, the UK-based manufacturer of carbon fibre and composite reinforcements, is to open an automotive production unit at its Leicestershire headquarters.

The 50,000 sq. ft. facility, due to open in March this year, will be dedicated to the production of carbon multiaxial fabrics for high volume automotive applications.

It follows the launch of a number of new automotive fabrics launched by the company in 2013, including; aFORM, a range of specialised +/-45 materials optimised for Class A surface finishes; reFORM, a family of highly drapeable recycled materials produced from carbon waste; and a Drape Simulation service that enables customers to optimise their fabrics performance by identifying creasing and permeability issues.
